How do we connect?
One of you creates the shared space in Settings → Partner sync and sends the invite code privately (in person is best). The other installs Dear Us, chooses Join my partner and pastes the code. Each of you uses your own account.

Yes, with the same account. On the device you already use: Settings → Partner sync → Link my phone or another PC. On the new one: I already use Dear Us on another device. Everything comes over, encrypted.

Click Forgot your password? where you sign in. We email you a 6-digit code. Your memories aren't affected: they're locked with your space key, not your password.

What is the recovery phrase?
24 words shown when you create your space. They're the key to your memories. You need them to open an encrypted backup on a new PC. Write them on paper and keep them safe; we can't recover them for you.

Settings → Partner sync → Delete my account. Your memories stay on your PC and your partner keeps your space. If you pay for Premium, cancel it first (Settings → Your plan → Manage subscription).

What happens after the trial if we don't subscribe?
Nothing is lost or locked. Your memories keep syncing. Photos and videos get 100 MB of cloud a month (unlimited over your home Wi-Fi), Cupid gets 10 arrows a month, and you can keep 3 time capsules sealed at once.

Yes. Either of you can buy it; it covers both of you on all your devices.

How do I pay?
Settings → Your plan → Get Premium. A secure checkout by Paddle, our reseller, opens in your browser (card, PayPal and more, depending on your country). When it's done, Dear Us switches to Premium for both of you within a few seconds.

How do I cancel Premium?
Settings → Your plan → Manage subscription → Cancel. Premium stays until the end of the period you paid for. You can also manage it from the link in your Paddle receipt email, or at paddle.net.
