Terms of use

Last updated: 6 November 2026

In short: Dear Us is a private journal for two, made by one person. Your memories are yours and stay on your devices. Be kind, don't misuse the service, keep your recovery phrase safe, and remember that Cupid is an AI that can be wrong.

1. Who you're agreeing with

Dear Us ("the app") and its cloud service are made by Anthony Chaaya, an individual developer in Lebanon publishing as axiant., a personal brand and not a registered company ("I", "we"). By using the app you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you got the app from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft's terms for the Store also apply to the download. Purchases are made through Paddle (see section 7).

2. Your account

3. Your memories

4. Sharing with your partner

Dear Us shares your memories only with the person you invite with your invite code, and with your own linked devices. Only invite someone who wants to be connected with you. Either of you can disconnect at any time (Settings → Partner sync → Disconnect from my partner). From then on nothing more is shared, but what was already shared stays on the other person's devices; it can't be taken back remotely.

5. Using it kindly

Don't use Dear Us to break the law, to harass, threaten or monitor someone without their consent, to share content you have no right to share, or to harm children. Don't try to break into, overload or reverse-engineer the cloud service, or get around plan limits. We may suspend accounts that do.

6. Cupid (AI)

7. Plans and purchases

8. Changes and the end of the service

We may improve, change or remove features. If the cloud service ever has to close, we'll announce it in the app at least 60 days ahead. Your memories stay on your PCs and the app keeps working offline.

9. No warranty and limits of liability

Dear Us is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages or for lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for Dear Us in the 12 months before it. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Dear Us and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in.

12. Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change applies. Questions: dearus@axianthq.com.
